Save the Scottish Heritage Center

Preserve the past. Protect our legacy

Help the Scottish Heritage Center Find a New Home

For decades, the Scottish Heritage Center at St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, North Carolina, has proudly served as a guardian of Scottish-American history and culture. From priceless artifacts and genealogical records to vibrant cultural programs, the Center has been a beacon of heritage for communities near and far.

Now, we face an urgent crossroads.

With the closure of the University, the Scottish Heritage Center must relocate to continue its mission. This moment, while difficult, is also an opportunity—to preserve a vital legacy, reimagine our future, and ensure that generations to come can connect with the story of the Scottish people in America.

We cannot do it without you.Your support will directly help us:

  • Secure a new, permanent home for the Center’s archives, collections, and programs.

  • Safely transport and preserve irreplaceable artifacts, manuscripts, and genealogical resources.

  • Maintain public access to our resources through educational programs and cultural events.

  • Build a foundation for the Center’s long-term sustainability as an independent institution.

The Scottish Heritage Center is more than a repository of history—it is a living tribute to the perseverance, values, and contributions of the Scottish people who helped shape our region and our nation.

We are committed to carrying this legacy forward. Will you stand with us? Your gift today—no matter the size—makes a lasting difference.

Please donate now and help ensure the Scottish Heritage Center finds a new home where its mission can endure and grow.

With deep gratitude,

The Center is one of the few institutions in the U.S. dedicated specifically to Scottish and Scottish-American history. It safeguards:
     - Rare books, documents, and genealogical records
     - Artifacts tied to Scottish settlement in the Carolinas
